The Old Globe is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated 90th Anniversary Celebration, taking place on Saturday, September 20, 2025. This black-tie, one-night-only fundraising event will transform the Globe’s Copley Plaza and Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage into a dazzling evening of theatre, fine dining, craft cocktails, and unforgettable performances.
Chaired by Sheryl White and Jennifer Greenfield, with Darlene Marcos Shiley serving as Honorary Chair, the 90th Anniversary Celebration honors nine decades of artistic excellence and community impact.
Christopher Jackson Headlines with Exclusive Performance
The evening’s highlight is a special, exclusive performance by Tony Award-nominated actor and Grammy and Emmy Award-winning songwriter/composer Christopher Jackson. Best known for originating the role of George Washington in the Broadway phenomenon Hamilton (also available on Disney+), Jackson has also starred in CBS’s Bull and HBO Max’s And Just Like That….
Artistic Director Barry Edelstein expressed excitement about the milestone event:

A Night of Cocktails, Cuisine, and Celebration
The celebration kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with signature cocktails by Snake Oil Cocktail Company and gourmet hors d’oeuvres on Copley Plaza. At 6:30 p.m., guests will gather inside the Old Globe Theatre for a special presentation highlighting the Globe’s impact and legacy, followed by Jackson’s electrifying performance.
At 8:00 p.m., attendees will enjoy a sumptuous three-course alfresco dinner catered by Urban Kitchen Catering, capped by live music, dancing, and surprises under the stars.
Supporting the Globe’s Mission of Community Impact
Funds raised from the 90th Anniversary Celebration will directly support The Old Globe’s artistic productions and its nationally recognized Arts Engagement programs. These initiatives serve more than 250,000 people annually, including students in Title I schools, military members, veterans, incarcerated individuals, and diverse community groups throughout San Diego.
Ticket and Sponsorship Information
Tickets are priced at $1,500 (regular seating) and $2,500 (VIP seating), including reception, dinner, performance, and dancing. Tables of 10 start at $15,000. Underwriting opportunities, including event tickets, begin at $10,000. Complimentary valet parking will be available at Alcazar Garden parking lot.
