The Old Globe Announces Cast and Creative Team for House of India World Premiere

The Old Globe has officially announced the full cast and creative team for the world premiere of House of India, an original play by San Diego playwright Deepak Kumar (2023 MacDowell Fellow, Baked! The Musical). Directed by Drama Desk Award nominee Zi Alikhan (On That Day in AmsterdamSanctuary City), this heartwarming new comedy will run from May 10 to June 1, 2025, at the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre in Balboa Park, San Diego.

Set in a strip mall restaurant near Cleveland, House of India follows Ananya, a widowed restaurant owner navigating the challenges of tradition, family, and change. As her cook Jacob proposes a trendy, fusion-style menu to attract more customers, Ananya faces tough decisions about honoring her late husband’s legacy or adapting to a new American Dream.

The cast includes Supriya Ganesh (The PittGrown-ish) as Vaidehi, Mahira Kakkar (Henry 6Life of Pi) as Ananya, Deven Kolluri (Monsoon WeddingDrunk Enough to Say I Love You?) as Vikram, and Tommy Bo (Snow in MidsummerThe Far Country) as Jacob. Understudies for the production are Parth Kichloo, Giancarlo Lugo, and Sutheshna Mani.

The creative team also features Chika Shimizu (Scenic Design), Rodrigo Munoz (Costume Design), Cha See (Lighting Design), Fan Zhang (Sound Design), tbd casting co. with Stephanie Yankwitt and Margaret Dunn, CSA (Casting), and Evelyn G. Myers (Production Stage Manager).
