San Diego’s vibrant theater scene is about to get even brighter. The Old Globe is proud to present the San Diego premiere of One of the Good Ones, a hilarious and heartfelt new comedy by acclaimed writer Gloria Calderón Kellett (Netflix’s Emmy Award–winning One Day at a Time), directed by Broadway’s Kimberly Senior (Disgraced).
Running from May 24 through June 22, 2025, on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage at the Old Globe Theatre, One of the Good Ones promises an evening filled with big laughs, warm moments, and timely themes. Tickets are available now at TheOldGlobe.org.
About the Story
When Yoli introduces her new boyfriend to her Latino American parents, cultural assumptions and generational differences ignite in hilarious—and deeply relatable—ways. Through sharp humor and deep compassion, the family confronts what it truly means to love and understand each other.
Described by the Los Angeles Times as “a theatrical comedy in the sitcom tradition of Norman Lear,” One of the Good Ones masterfully blends fast-paced humor with real emotional stakes.
